Does-time-exist .....???

Please forgive, when awkward, the English of this page. English is not the author's native language.Reading Time: 3 min 5 seconds

There are two kinds of human thoughts:
Those that handle the physical that does exist and ...
those that handle the non-physical that is fiction that doesn't exist

To us human beings, the physical reality appears* to be made of material objects and immaterial active phenomenon. We do perceivethe reality of objects and active phenomenon through our body senses, and in return we can describe that perception of reality.
An object or an active phenomenon is real or exist on the double condition that we are able to first perceive it then describe it.

By contrast that, which doesn't exist in reality, the non-physical, can only exist in our minds! Evidently we cannot perceive through our body senses that which does not exist in reality, and as a consequence we are unable to describe that, which doesn't exist.
Mental concepts that lack physical collateral cannot be perceived physically. And our inability to describe that which doesn't exist, corroborates that non existence.

* The word "appears" precedes the words "to be made of" because the words "made-of" and "exist" are misleading; they imply that things are "made of" matter that doesn't need time to "exist"! In the gravimotion world, matter's inner-core, the subatomic particle, doesn't "exist", it "occurrs" dynamically instead!

Here are things that we perceive, along with their description, and as such ...
which are physical or exist in reality.

Because we can touch them, material objects are physical, and exist in reality. In conjunction with that reality that does exist outside our minds, we make crystal clear mental images of material objects within our minds. And in return we can describe them.

Then in reality, unlike material objects though, there are phenomenon such as gravitation that occur and as such exist and are physical yet non-material.
Even though one cannot touch gravitation as one does material objects, and even though gravitation acts out of immaterial space, because gravitation makes objects fall, gravitation is physical.
Similarly even though one cannot grab them with one's hands, light rays are physical because they have a physical effect, light rays from the sun heat up our skin.
Both gravitation and light rays, even though non material, are physical and do exist or occur in reality because they act on matter; weclearly perceive their respective effects with our body; and in return we are able to concisely describe these effects as just done above.
Our perceptions then our descriptions of gravitation and light rays corroborate their physical existence.

Even though we have no idea of what are (in reality) matter, gravitation and light rays, and even though our human interpretations of these things are only ideas (concepts and pictures) we know that these ideas do coincide to real things! We can touch matter, gravitation makes an object fall and light from the sun heats our skin.
Both perception and description are needed to be confident that something is real or does exist in reality.

We can neither perceive physically our mental concept of time, nor describe it, ...
as such time doesn't exist!

A does-time-exist-clock, which hands are question marks! For one, our idea of time doesn't run the clocks that "give" us the "time"! Is that not puzzling? In reality, metal springs or batteries and not time activate clocks.
Ask yourself this question: Why do I believe a clock gives me the time whereas time doesn't run that clock? Time is clearly missing from that specific reality that is a clock!
Then time is neither controlling the time duration of our life that is at the mercy of an accident, nor our aging, which runs on biological processes such as the physical duplication of cells.
Obviously time is not involved in our so-called aging process! Now choose any word, within our human language that implies time, you will find out that time is never involved! Even simultaneity and instantaneity must occur elsewhere than in time as both involve no time!
Besides there has to be a reason or some doubt, for which so many, including you and I, do ask the question:does time exist? And by the way, for which this page is so popular!

Here is an answer:
There is no physical interaction whatsoever between our concept of time and any physical phenomenon.
As a consequence we cannot perceive physically our concept of time.
And as a consequence again we are unable to describe the alleged entity time.
Time fails both aspects of the double condition that could establish it's physical entity.
And that is true in the science of physics too! Richard Feynman, a renown physicist, suggested that "time runs independently of everything else."
Not connected to anything real, "time" is only a word of our language and "t" only a mathematical symbol in physics.
Time is non physical. Time does not exist in reality!

**What about a physical proof that time doesn't exist...

1.The behavior of clocks and Einstein's time dilation phenomenon :.

  1. Because our minds deal exclusively with ideas, our minds treat in-distinctively the physical and the non-physical. In reverse our minds find it natural to project back into the real physical world the non-physical concept of time.
In short, the physical and the non physical are identical, both are ideas within the scope of our thinking. And that is a direct cause of confusion.

  2. Then the physical may also be not material just as time! For instance the phenomenon of gravitation is immaterial, yet it is physical as it moves objects while they are falling.
Now in addition to the fact that our minds deal with ideas only, these very ideas may coincide to non-material entities that may be either physical as gravitation is, or non-physical as time is.
In short, the similarity that exists between a non-material phenomenon and our idea of time further confuses the issue.

  3. And light rays are always in motion or dynamic just as our idea of time is. Now our minds have little ways to distinguish what might differentiate the reality of non-material, dynamic phenomenon such as light rays from our own built-in concept of dynamic time.
In short, the idea we have of a non-material, dynamic yet physical phenomenon such as light has a lot in common with thenon-material, dynamic idea we have of time. And down three levels of abstraction (coinciding to this list items 1. 2. and 3.) the similarities persist; the deeper we dig the stronger the confusion between the physical and the non physical!

  4. In spite of our extraordinary power of abstraction, we human are totally ignorant as to the essence of gravitation and of light rays! As such being also ignorant as to the (alleged) essence of time does not present any problem to our thinking process, and in our minds that adds to that physical / non-physical confusion!

  5. Another factor of confusion yet, is the reality of the phenomenon of life. Let's face it we do not know what life is made of either! As such the (unknown) essence of life could possibly be similar to the (alleged) essence of time; but that is unlikely though, because the phenomenon of life is definitely intertwined with matter, and our concept of time is not.
Because we totally lack cognizance of the intrinsic structure of (real) things, we cannot judge ourselves whether our (mental) concepts are fictitious or not on the basis of their (alleged) essence in reality!
Yet there are at least 3 different ways to lift the confusion if any:

  • Believe it or not, there is a direct and pragmatic way to lift the ambiguity, and that is using (click) Einstein's time dilation and re-interpreting it!
  • Then a mental (rather than physical) way to lift the confusion is to provide an interpretation of the universe and its contents devoid of time and space. And this is precisely the purpose of gravimotion's interpretation of Nature.
  • Finally any confusion is unambiguously dissipated in finding out whether or not the equivalent in the real world of our (mental) concepts can be interacted with or create interactions of themselves.

Time and Einstein

Now here comes Einstein who shatters our concept of time, asserting that it is not universal.
According to Einstein each object or body runs on its own time directly linked to its motion.
This phenomenon called time dilation has since been verified experimentally through the motion of an atomic clock flown around the globe.
Einstein's idea if any reinforces our belief that time exists, simply changing the abstract characteristics our minds ascribe to time!
Yet next is a big surprise for you ...
Because there is another pragmatic and evident interpretation of Einstein's calculations and famous "time dilation concept".
Time dilation is the slowing of a clock when that clock is in motion. A phenomenon not to be confused with gravity-time-dilation.
The experiment has been done with 2 identical atomic clocks, one flying in a plane around the globe, and the other left on the ground.
An atomic clock runs with an accuracy of 1 second in 1,400,000 years!
The experimenters found that once it landed the clock in the plane ran slow with respect to the one left on the ground.
And it did it precisely in accordance with Einstein's calculations.

The consensus is that time (given by the clock) is slowed by motion (of the plane).

The interpretation I give to that phenomenon will no doubt surprise you by its pragmatism, maybe making you think "That cannot be!"...

My idea instead is that the overall motion of the clock hampers the inner motion animating the clock mechanism, slowing mechanically the clock down!

Supposing motion is physical, Einstein's calculations suggest that physical motion is acting on physical motion!
And the calculations are accurate because the internal motion considered within the clock mechanism, and chosen to be coinciding to 1 second of our concept of time, is actually synchronized with that specific motion of Nature of earth rotating on itself.
The internal mechanism of an atomic clock runs at 9,192,631,770 cycles per second, which is the radiation frequency of the cesium-133 atom. And those 9,192,631,770 physical cycles (in a second) physically match (in reality) the earth's motion during 1 second (of our concept of time), which is (in reality) 1/60th of 1/60th of 1/24th of a full revolution of earth on itself.

This physical interaction in my eyes pulls time and its mystery right out of the clock that gives us time!
As far as I am concerned the reality of motion takes over our concept of time.
That internal-to-external motion dependency kills any concept of time we may hold in the name of a clock!
Einstein, actually, opens up our eyes! Time doesn't exist!
Motion is real and occurs, time is fictitious!

Time and Gravimotion

In the Gravimotion world the motion of the hands of the clock (interpreted by all as time) dependency on the overall motion of the clock, is a dependency that is taken most seriously.
That motion dependency promotes the REALITY OF MOTION at the expense of our human concept of time!
Motion does not merely control time, motion replaces time; and time does no longer exist!
As a generalization of that concept, in the gravimotion interpretation of Nature, the universe is made of motion, just as its expansion suggests. The universe is not made of space and time.

Time within our Thinking

The words aging, the arrow of time, seconds, minutes, hours, and many many more, including motion, justify time (within our minds) whether time exists or not (in reality).
The concept of time surreptitiously infiltrated our human imagination along the centuries.
So, as far as our day-to-day lives are concerned, time remains indispensable!
And physics' mathematical interpretation of Nature can no longer do without this "t" abstract symbol of time.
No matter the sophistication of our thinking, that is whether layperson or scientist, time remains indispensable in our minds!

The Lack of Time in Reality

If we try to make sense of Nature though, motion takes over and time doesn't exist.
